چکیده

The position of Streptococcus bovis among the Lacobactriacae is of interest because of the extremely simple nitrogen requirements of this organism in contrast with the other streptococci which have been investigated. Niven, Washburn, and White (1948) studied the nutritive requirements of fifteen strains of S. bovis and found that all but two grew in a medium containing arginine as the sole source of amino nitrogen. Further investigation of the metabolic patterns of one strain of S. bovis led Washburn and Niven (1948) to report several interesting amino acid antagonisms in the metabolism of this organism when it was grown in a medium in which arginine supplied the nitrogen requirement. During the course of some experiments on amino acid metabolism in two strains of S. boi, the present authors found that growth in a medium similar to that of Washburn and Niven was often poor and irregular, and a considerable difference between duplicate tubes was frequently observed. The use of younger, heavier inocula resulted in somewhat improved growth. The better results with the heavy inocula suggested the possibility that carbon dioxide was involved in the growth of S. bovis in such media since heavy inocula are likely to contain significant amounts of metabolic CO2. In order to determine whether this were true, an investigation of the role of CO2 in the growth of S. bovis was undertaken.

Evaluating the effects of energy and economic growth on Carbon dioxide emission (using spatial panel data)

Energy is one of the most important inputs in production. Energy usage and energy diffusion of fossil fuels in process of production cause greenhouse gases (CO2) emission and destruction of environment. According to the importance of issues like energy usage and economic growth, this paper, concerning the effects of proximity, evaluates the effects of energy usage and economic growth on emissio...

Adaptation of the Cyanobacterium fischerella sp. ISC 107 to the combined effects of pH and carbon dioxide concentration. Mahboobeh Rajabnasab1, Ramezan Ali Khavari-nejad1*, Shademan Shokravi2 and Taher Nejadsattari1

The aim of this study was to investigate the adaptation of the cyanobacterium Fischerella sp. ISC 107to combined effects of carbon dioxide concentration, acidic and alkalinity. Axenic strain was incubated in BG0-11 medium. Carbon dioxide treatments were limited and relatively non-limited. Acidic (pH 5), neutral (pH7), and alkaline (pH 9) conditions were employed in each treatment. Survival, gro...

Measurement and Analysis of Green Energy Economy Indicators in Iran (Measurement of Carbon Dioxide Emission and its Elasticity)

Achieving sustainable economic growth is one of the most important goals of countries' economic programs and policies in the current era. Along with economic growth, consumption of energy rises. Since fossil fuels provide a major share of the world's energy, increased fuel consumption is an inevitable feature of economic growth.  Continuation of this trend increases greenhouse gas emmissions, n...
